Website Design & Development

A newly established insurance agency needed a strong brand identity and online presence. As Lead Product Designer, I was responsible for developing a custom website on WordPress to generate leads and inquiries.

I led the UX design process from wireframing to testing, ensuring a user-friendly experience by improving interactivity and security through custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Goals

- Create custom styling & interactivity
- Secure data handling

Approach & Solution

- Custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript after consulting with a developer to validate the feasibility of my solution.
- This collaboration ensured that the final implementation was scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices.

Reflections & Learnings

- Problem-Solving Through Collaboration: Working with a developer helped bridge gaps in my coding knowledge while ensuring a robust and maintainable solution.
- Hands-On JavaScript Practice: Addressing technical blockers deepened my understanding of front-end development, empowering me to experiment with custom scripting and interactivity.
- Balancing Client Requests & Constraints: By aligning design intuition with technical feasibility, I successfully delivered a polished solution within budget and project scope.

Future Improvements

Looking back, I identified three key areas for improvement:

1. Anticipating technical constraints earlier to avoid roadblocks in development.
2. Involving a developer sooner to streamline problem-solving and execution.
3. Prioritizing essential features to prevent unnecessary complexity.

This project reinforced the value of strategic planning, adaptability, and cross-functional teamwork in delivering scalable solutions.
